THE SOUND
Scout Mountain Bluegrass is a five-piece traditional bluegrass band from Powell River’s Sunshine Coast, bringing experienced musicians, tight vocal harmonies, acoustic instrumentation and an eclectic mix of classic, contemporary and original songs. Active in British Columbia’s bluegrass and roots-music community since 2009, the band delivers energetic instrumental breaks, rich harmonies and the warmth and personality of a live string band.
THE ONE-MICROPHONE EXPERIENCE
At the heart of the show is Scout Mountain’s signature one-microphone presentation. Five musicians gather around one central microphone, moving naturally as lead vocals, harmonies and instrumental breaks unfold. The result is a dynamic, highly visual performance built around communication, timing and the give-and-take of traditional bluegrass. The band’s Ear Trumpet Labs “Louise” microphone is part of the show itself.
